Jumbo's Engineering team leverages tech such as Golang, Docker, TypeScript, and React to regularly ship code that improves our products and has a positive impact on our customers. We deploy fast and often - in 2022 we totalled 4000 releases. This means Engineers get to see their code out in the wild, being put to the test by real users.

Who we're looking for:
You'll be directly responsible for providing high-quality and timely QA support as part of an agile team and assist in the development and implementation of online systems.

As part of a small high-energy team, you will deliver incredible, creative improvements to our products. You will contribute to the success of the software development team through quality assistance and quality assurance practices.

You Will Also:
Be an ambassador for quality practices and principles within the development team with a focus on achieving zero-defect delivery, as well as use your product knowledge to contribute to the analysis & planning stages of the development process ensuring quality is a planned outcome from the start.
Additionally you will:

  • Execute test plans and other quality assurance activities for the software development team.
  • Coach and mentor Software Engineers on quality assistance practices. Be a fanatic in the team by continuously improving team knowledge and skills.
  • Monitor, measure and improve quality metrics in the team.
  • Work with other Quality Assistance Analysts and other stakeholders to develop standards and practices. Make recommendations for the team and the department to improve quality outcomes.
  • Identify gaps & assist in automating the manual test effort. Use different automation tools to design, establish, and deploy effective test automation solutions.
  • Estimate, prioritise, plan and perform quality focussed activities with the development team. Demonstrate effective requirements traceability throughout the development lifecycle using quality assurance techniques.
Ideally, we'd like you to have:
  • SQL proficiency & understanding of database systems;
  • Ability to investigate, comprehend & communicate complex processes and systems;
  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assistance, quality assurance, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with a mindset that questions assumptions; with a willingness to continuously help improve processes and procedures
  • Able to work in a self-directed fashion while also contributing to team goals and harmony
  • Excellent technical communicator, both written and verbal
